Auburn, Mass., November 22, 2006—Broker/Owner Derek Alfama of WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Home & Land Partners was among representatives of franchised offices in 27 states coast to coast at the recent Fifth Annual Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc. Management Retreat.
The more than 300 attendees at the Westin Savannah (Georgia) Golf Harbor event reflected the organization’s rapid growth since launching a first independently owned and operated franchise in January 2002. Only 21 brokers, managers and franchise owners attended the first retreat in 2002, followed by 55 in 2003, 180 in 2004 and 253 in 2005.
This year’s group heard from Weichert® Affiliates President Martin J. Rueter, who said, “We continue to be excited about adding high caliber companies, who use our systems and support to bring a new level of service to their respective markets.” Weichert® franchises currently deliver 6,000 highly trained agents to markets throughout the country.
Rueter, along with speakers and panelists, addressed the franchise company’s continuing impact on the industry during a program of educational sessions and “cracker barrel” discussions. Keynoters were John Tuccillo, one of the foremost real estate and housing finance economists in the United States, and in-demand speaker/trainer/humorist Roger Reitzel.
